Purpose: The purpose of this study was effect of webbased remote breathing exercise on pulmonary function and respiratory strength.
Methods: A total of 30 students were assigned to 15 in study groups and 15 in control groups. Exercise was performed 3 times a week for a total of 12 times for 4 weeks. Both groups applied an exercise program included breathing exercise and whole body exercise.
Results: As a result of pulmonary function, there was no significant difference in the study group, and there was a significant difference in the control group for FEV©û, FEV©û/FVC, PEF. Both groups showed significant differences in MEP and MIP for respiratory muscle strength. However, there were no significant differences between groups in all items.
Conclusion: Breathing exercises help to improve pulmonary function and respiratory muscle strength. In particular, remote breathing exercise can be an alternative that can help improve respiratory muscle strength of non-face-to-face social university students with low activity levels.
